Identify the correct opening first

The bottom edge can contain a loudspeaker, microphones and decorative holes that look similar. The top slot is usually the call receiver. Remove a case and screen protector temporarily. Sometimes the accessory—not the phone—is collecting lint or covering part of the sound path.

Dry-brush method for surface debris
